More Than

Greater Than Sign

More Than

More than a fork makes a pie crust flake.
More than sugar in chocolate.
More than goats eat anything.
More than bears eat honey.
More than your soft lips.
More than riches.
More than health.
More than.
More.

The form goes like this:  ABCDEFGHI or alpha numerical form, so each line is a different ending word. The corresponding syllables are 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1.  If this doesn’t make sense, go to the link above, and they will explain it in other ways.

As for the amazing artwork above, I did it. It’s too inventive, I know. If there were something better, something else, I would have chosen that.

About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet." To learn more about the origins of the word "zongrik" see whats-a-zongrik?

  1. I liked the “greater or more” than sign: It is More and you expressed it well in this form. Thank you so much for writing and linking. Gay

  2. I love this. I usually try to think of some constructive criticism to give, but I just…love this. Glad to have found you.

  3. It seems there is always more than we see, more than one thinks is truly there, if only we look beyond the mere surface of things.

  4. There is more for those who look and live life well. I enjoy the multiple layers in this Nonet.

  5. Love this and love the art! Great job on the form…and great subject 🙂

  6. Really enjoyed this–you show how much you can do simply, sacrificing nothing in meaning or beauty along the way. In fact, I think theres ‘more’ of it.

  7. Clever use of the form

  8. Great use of the form! I really enjoyed your poem, especially the more than. Thank you for participating.

  9. you capture the essence of more or greater than well…as with the form…

  10. i like the build up…strange thought considering the form itself narrows. very nicely done. i particularly like the use of the math symbol (probably because math is at the core of who i am and i always enjoy seeing it embedded within another favorite of mine, poetry).

  11. Very creative form and perfect pairing with the image. It seems like the “more than” starts you thinking. There are lots of more than’s in life.

  12. Nicely done! I’m enjoying reading the nonets. And your artwork is lovely as well!

  13. I got so much more that I expected,good write,Tammy

  14. Amazing how one word can say so much about love.

  15. More than more is a great thought to ponder! LOL ♥

  16. ‘More than’ is the positive half of the pair and I prefer positives. It brings to life what expectations we desire and better ourselves in the process. Nonet is challenging as it imposed certain discipline in creating it! Great sketch! (is it in soft pastel?)
