Benediction

Mahatma Gandhi - Namaste

Benediction

bring reconciliation
redeem from persecution
rock the opposition
fill with compassion
fight off starvation
grieve sinful condition
reign in proportion
reward our recitation
mercy on our generation

express devotion
declare benediction
ordain with obligation
praise urgent declamation
bless vocal improvisation
glorify breathing relaxation
proclaim his name with satisfaction
commit your spirit to salvation
worship through musical notation

About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet." To learn more about the origins of the word "zongrik" see whats-a-zongrik?

  5. Beautifully written and heartfelt–and I love the photo of Gandhi–such an inspiration to the world.

  6. I know so little of Gandhi. I have snippets of information, but thats about it. I am not religious in any way, shape or form. Your piece is over and above me because of that. Benediction is something I had to look up. I have snippets of memory about Benedictine Monks I seem to remember?
    A very interesting read though.
