Three Senryu of Preparation

Methamphibian Angel of Death

Three Senryu of Preparation

life preparation
awaken no attachment
detach misfortune

firm preparation
unavoidable event
overwhelming thoughts

death angels await
terminal preparation
eternally cold

About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet." To learn more about the origins of the word "zongrik" see whats-a-zongrik?

  1. Enjoyed them. The last was particularly chilling.

  2. Yikes on the 3rd one … very interesting takes on the prompt! I haven’t done mine yet!

  3. Well done. Interesting progression. K.

  4. Interesting spin on the prompt and a nice photo to go with them.

  5. Creatively these senryu offer a fresh perspective on the three stages of birth, living and death! The last one is dramatic!

  6. they feel like a cycle. =)

  7. Wow! You did it. I struggled with this prompt for few days because it kept pulling me to go into the same direction you went, to write about life, meaning of life, and preparation for the end. But I wanted to write something related to preparation for the holiday, so I settled somewhere in between the two. Then I struggled to find a title, so I finally didn’t give it one. Anyway, I was tired in the end. LOL But I really like yours. Well done.

  8. very interesting and the pic too.

  9. Would that detaching misfortune were an easy task!
