About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet." To learn more about the origins of the word "zongrik" see whats-a-zongrik?

  1. That pic is awesome as the poetry…

  2. Weird, I am a big fan of Ken Wilber and while reading his books I come across these studies and theories done by others on memes…he has his own take on the work but these got me thinking in that direction because there is a natural evolution as each of these unfolds….I know kind of a weird review, but I have a tendency to write whatever I am thinking and my filter has been plugged for years. I loved these, fantastic.

  3. Really thought-provoking Tanka!

  4. You addressed some weighty topics here – way to be brave! These are so well written, and really make my mind stre-e-e-e-tch, which is good for it, though it’s painful, hee hee.

  5. Very well said. I agree with Mary, very thought-provoking.

  6. love the last one….and that lieterary works are streaming…they are often the tools of revolutionaries…strong tankas ma’am

  7. Loved them all.
I had cleared my history and cache etc etc, I had to log into the old wordpress account to be able to comment again. Hope it’s fixed now… smh

  8. You do this form very well. K.

  9. Amazing! Bravo, great form and the message so clear….YOU did a wonderful job!

  10. Like this a lot
    thanks

    Peace,
    Siggi in Downeast Maine

  11. These are quite the tongue-twisters – such extensive vocabulary!
I hope you don’t mind my pointing out a typo in line 2 of your first tanka: reawakened.

  12. Heavy stuff handled with a wry and light hand…and thought provoking too! Well crafted. So glad you shared, you do these so well!

  13. I like how you linked theme together in the three. Powerful words.

  14. the second one made me ponder a while… humble hope is often stronger (in the long run) than insurgent powers… intriguing poems

  15. 😉

    amazing tankas!

    happy spring!
