Fancy HOV Ridin’
Fancy HOV Ridin’
surrealistic existentialism
late afternoon commute,
coasting in the bike lane
looking for things to do.
careers, oh so different.
with certainty, city explored.
older people, not one younger
high school students on the run.
time to ransack bookstores.
(only for compilations)
published. renounced.
such was the plan.
in good company,
cheeky thinking.
regional network,
structured naturally.
professor emeritus,
familiar with his family tree.
full of universal correctness,
(worthy of a doubt or two.)
signed up for his book club.
costly find. challenged participation.
opinions: affected by social conditions:
unfavorable disregard for niceties.
night ride? without illumination?
front wheel off, bike fits in his trunk.
homeward in eco-ready, light-auto —
stratospheric high-flying-occupant-car-pooler.

I like the last verse! thanks
Love the futuristic twist … 🙂
Oh wow – that’s just outstainding!
Batwoman by night, disaffected bookworm by day !
Welcome back Zongrik
Cool, fun and one hell of a ride, Tammy!
Bike lanes and HOVs – wishing we had occupants when we must drive solo. Cool well packed ride here – tight and yet fully expressed. Good to read you again!
ha. would not mind being in on that car pool…universal correctiveness…ouch that sounds restricting….good to see you, its been a while…
ha – bikers without light in the dark freak me out… glad that bike fitted in his trunk – haha…and hope he was full of universal correctness on that lift he gave you…smiles
it’s a made up story. so there was no correctness and no impropriety either.
Putting a stop to the gas woes, but helium prices would cause woes haha
What a clever write to this prompt!!
Had to “look up” HOV. Realized I always use that lane when riding my scooter through cities, was going too fast to ever notice what they’re called.
Me too, like last verse. A good write. Thanks for visiting 4th Dimension
Love it. Well done!
“Surrealistic existentialism,” indeed!
Awesome ride.
front wheel off
like flying here…
Oh I have to make a car like that.SUch a fun ride. I’ll be sure and steer clear of this guy: “professor emeritus,
familiar with his family tree.
full of universal correctness,
(worthy of a doubt or two.)”
I guess I’m lucky I live where we don’t need carpool lanes, but when I’m in California, I may stop by and borrow that little car. Just make sure the balloons are filled, okay. Fun ride, Tammy.
Tammy, love, love, love the easy, breezy surreal landscape you painted.
Awesome and entertaining write/ride, Tammy! I like it!
Hi zongrik! Your words remind me of an uncertain time between career or retirement and what to do next when on autopilot. Thanks for sharing them; it is not a pleasant thought but a challenge observed and overcome as happy! Love ya friend!
sounds like a fabulous way to travel!
There were many times that wish I could just float away from the rush hour craziness!
I enjoyed this journey. Took me back to past times, past rides. Thanks!
Wow, that was a fun read. Many thanks. Especially because I love surrealism! 🙂
Greetings from London.
Well played!
=)
love these lines:
“homeward in eco-ready, light-auto –
stratospheric high-flying-occupant-car-pooler”.
Cheeky thinking, indeed! Love this…
