Drunken Driving Limerick

Most intoxicated drivers have a false sense of security, since alcohol eliminates people’s inhibitions, they never think they will cause an accident or actually be arrested. Many don’t even realize they are drunk when they get behind the wheel; it takes just a few drinks to push someone over the legal limit.

Drunken Driving Limerick

Drunken driving will always impair
your perception of getting here or there.
It’s a big hullabaloo,
when a policeman stops you,
and you act like you’re walking on air.

Dance to the Moulin Rouge

Dance to the Moulin Rouge

summer breezes kiss her curls.
unlatched emotions — tension unfurled.
a sudden scuttle. she towers
to the middle of the floor —
music called her to gambol.

the men rubbernecking.
her dress plays it safely.
impulsive. exploitative.
pathetic ridicule and gossip.
chirps hum to merry prancing.

graceful butterfly. witch queen.
dance tornado. plastic sculpture.
dress variable in shape.
ribbons and skin so silky.
next, she’ll kick off those shoes.

Midnight Cowboy — A Quick Review

spoiler alert: it's not a happy ending

spoiler alert: it’s not a happy ending

Midnight Cowboy — A Quick Review

drawn to urban utopia,
world of other people’s affairs.
out of Texas, homegrown souls —
los hombres of loneliness.

man spree. textured long limbs.
ruddy, cocky, snap the tongue.
silly sod with stupid laugh.
unaffected country man.

he painted New York —
hypothetical trust.
that’s his style — innocence,
no matter how it’s tolerated.

kind friend or was it pity?
same disease phase; containment.
taste of humiliation and despair.
more rotten than downtown Bangkok.

whores to comfort women —
men more putrid than garbage .
stripped of cowboy costume.
(it’s not a happy ending.)

Upside Down Flying Limerick

At altitude that’s a little too high,
John flew upside down in the sky.
When the turbulence started,
He accidentally farted
“The dog did it,” said the pilot wise guy.
