Portrait of Johnny

Johnny was originally from Artesia, California, USA. he went to Artesia High School. At the time of this posting, he lived in Lancaster, California, USA where he settled in the early 2000’s. Johnny was in the maintenance field, however at posting, he was disabled and not working. When he was working in maintenance, he worked in both apartment and commercial sites. During his work career, he worked for both maintenance companies and for himself.

Johnny was part Apache, and felt proud to be associated with Geronimo. You can see a similarity in cheek structure *click on hyperlink.) His “look” was one aspect of Johnny that inspired me to take his portrait in the first place.

Johnny considered himself a big sports fan. Another part of his “look” that attracted me to taking his picture was his big LA Dodgers shirt. Johnny claimed to be a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Green Bay PackersLos Angeles LakersUSCTrojans, and the Los Angeles Kings. That was quite a spread of different sports. Imagine his t-shirt collection!

Johnny did not seemed impressed with 2017 Super Bowl 51, which occurred the day before this portrait. He had no desire to talk about it. This was one of the first years he didn’t participate in a Superbowl party, although he did actually watch it.

Johnny was with his wife, Barbara when I met him. You can find out more about Johnny and his wife on her Facebook page. They were a loving and close couple, that is, I felt a “good vibe” relationship emanating from them.

About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet."
