Portrait of Mac

This is Mac who worked for United Parcel Service (UPS) for 16 years. He was originally from Los Angeles, California, USA. At the time of this posting, he lived in Tehachapi, California, USA, however, he did his deliveries out of Mojave.

Although I assumed Mac delivered most of my packages, I usually didn’t get to see him do the deed, so to speak, because I either was not around or, he knocked, dropped the package by my door and ran off.

My dog’s knew when he came way before I knew. They had a certain look; their ears went up; I would hear brakes in front of my house; and through the window, see the UPS truck.

At my door, smiling Mac would stand, waiting for a signature, and I would be happy to see him delivering me a package ON-TIME and to the correct domicile.

About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet." To learn more about the origins of the word "zongrik" see whats-a-zongrik?

In less then 6 weeks starting Round 21

  2. I echo Melody’s comment above. In this day of email and online stuff, isn’t it fun to have a real person at your door delivering something. I’d love a handwritten (or even typed) letter from anyone again. I remember the days…..sigh…
