Portrait of Michael

Michael was seventeen and went to Legacy High School in Bismarck, North Dakota, USA. His father, however, lived in Rosamond, California, USA.

Michael had been doing Motocross since a very young age and his only other interests were participating in BMX and skateboarding. Michael was also mechanical, and wanted to be either a welder or a mechanic when he completed High School.

Michael was a really great guy. I was making action shots of his incredible stunts (see below) and was amazed to see that he was so young when he took his helmet off. It was just such a pleasure being around someone who was so stable and knew exactly what he wanted in life.

Portrait of Donna

One thing that all cultures and nations have in common is paying taxes. Today is tax day in the United States of America. In honor of tax day, the person that I shall post will be my accountant, Donna.

Donna was a person who loved “getting things in ORDER,” which she practiced since she was a child. Along with the multitudinous receipts, forms, ledgers etc involved in accounting, Donna saw the legal aspects of accounting as part of the process of getting things at ORDER, “it’s challenging to set things up so that it works out best for my clients.”

Donna studied accounting at California State University, Northridge, and was a practicing Certified Public Accountant (CPA) for 35 years. At the time of this posting, she worked out of Lancaster, California, USA. At the start of her career, Donna thought that the legal aspects of accounting were going to be black and white but she ended up finding them very grey. Of course, she perceived tax law as something that needed to be put in ORDER.

Donna is a great accountant. Recently, a new friend, who moved to this area, asked me for an accountant recommendation. When I mentioned to Donna that I knew someone who wanted to retain her, she told me she was so busy that she wasn’t taking any new clients.

If countries hired accountants of Donna’s caliber to keep their finances in ORDER, geo-political systems would be much more stable in this world. Consequently, it would be a much happier, easier and more organized place to live.

BTW, Donna is so busy, she has no website or social media links, not only because she has no time, but because she doesn’t need them.

Portrait of Samantha

Samantha was 5 years old and in kindergarten. She was “a ball of energy”  so she liked to to run around and to play tag. Samantha’s mom believed that she could do anything that she wanted to do. She was definitely athletic.

Samantha liked working in the kitchen. She especially liked kneading dough. This was probably related to her interest in molding clay at school, and playing with dirt and digging around outside.

Samantha’s parents were from Manila, Philippines, but Samantha was born in California.

Portrait of Dylan

Dylan’s parents were both from Uganda, but Dylan was born in California. His father was a businessman and his parents had been living in California six years. Dylan was 11 months old and according to his father, Dylan, “loved to mess about; he’s jolly good boy.”

As of this posting, Dylan did not walk on his own, but scooted around holding onto furniture. Dylan loved lovely, colorful toys.

Dylan was patient as I made his picture, but he was tired, and as soon as I was finished, he started in with that tired baby cry. Thank you Dylan for putting up with me.
