Portrait of Sundri
Sundri was nine years old and in the fourth grade. Her favorite subject in school with math because, “it’s fun to do problems.” She wanted to be a doctor, so her second favorite subject was science, of course.
Sundri played simple songs on the piano. She was working on her Christmas recital pieces. She also participated in hip-hop dance and was also preparing for a Christmas recital in that area of her life also.
During hip-hop performances, she always danced in a group, and hoped that one day she would be given the opportunity to solo or do a duet.
At the time of this interview, Sundri was reading The Princess and the Page.
This picture has been on my bucket list awhile. About two years ago, I discovered this park and took a picture of this dome climbing structure, but no none was on it. So since then, I’ve been wanting to snap one with a child on top.
Sundri’s Dad was willing for me to make her portrait on the dome, but she had never climbed that high. Thank you Sundri for being brave and climbing up there for me for the first time, so I could get this shot.

Portrait of Sister Mary Veronica
Sister Mary Veronica was stationed at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Rosamond, California, USA. The Rosamond, California parish needed nuns for their school, specifically for a homeschool Co-op program.
Sister Mary Veronica came with another nun to Rosamond. She was sent from Poor Clare Nuns of Spokane in Spokane Washington. They sent out nuns to Mission schools; there were five Mission schools in the United States.
Sister Mary Veronica was very proud of her new Church because it was a rebuilt Masonic temple that had a beautiful statue of “Our Lady” in front of the altar and she posed an invitation, “all are welcome to come inside.”
An organ was brought to the church and a choir was assembled. The choir sang mostly church hymns and Gregorian chants. Mary Sister Mary Veronica sang Alto in the choir. The choir was made up mostly of children, teenagers and young adults. When the choir sings chants, of course they sang in one voice.
