Portrait of Andrew

Twelve year old Andrew had been a carny kid for G Shows his whole life. While he thought it was fun, his friends thought it was very cool, “but it’s funny because I think it’s normal and I grew up at it.”

Andrew aspired to be a biomedical engineer one day and then he would be able to design and develop parts for people’s bodies.

Portrait of Luigi

Luigi was originally from Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico. When he lived there, he had worked on a ranch with his father and they had ten cows. He liked the touristy and beach lifestyle in Veracruz, however, he could not say if it was better living in Southern California or living in Veracruz.

Luigi was a carnival attendant for G Shows and had been working with them for six years. He didn’t consider the life too hard and he seemed to enjoy camaraderie with his fellow Carnies and being able to work with the really fun equipment.

In this portrait, Luigi was getting the Ferris wheel ready for carnival attendees. Below is a picture of the Ferris wheel. If you look carefully, you might be able to see him standing on the hub behind a vertical support post, and holding onto a strut.
