Portrait of Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn was 33 weeks pregnant. It was her third pregnancy and she was hoping that it would be her “second living child.”
Kaitlyn was from Lancaster, California, USA and was a stay-home mom who was diligently teaching her three and a half year old the basics. Kaitlyn, herself, was home-schooled.
Kaitlyn loved being a mom she said “it changed me a lot.”

Portrait of Alma
At the interview, Alma was due in only two weeks for her first pregnancy with a baby girl. She found out during a regular ultrasound and had chosen not to get the 3D ultrasound. Although it was her first child, this baby not the first grandchild for her parents; she had several nieces and nephews.
Alma was super excited, although sometimes a little tired. She was taking both birthing and parenting classes.
Alma was born in San Fernando Valley and went to Grant High School. She went to Mirabella Beauty College which is now closed because of legal reasons. Alma worked for a beauty supply store and did a little bit of everything in the beauty field, but she tried to mostly stick to hair coloring and cutting hair, which she did out of her home.

Still Expecting
Still Expecting
Tightening, around your pulse;
I am a factory.
Sharing:
Breaths and blood,
Disease and disorders,
Nourishment and necessities
The smallest of hands,
The caricature of toes,
Pressing.
Never alone,
As you crystallize
Into existence.
Trusting.
Transforming.
Captivating.

On of my Twitter friends TERRILL WELCH shot the photo above. This is her daughter.
