Olympic Torch Senryu

In the face of oppression the Olympic torch is carried through Britain alongside a Pit Bull. Maybe one day BSL will be lifted there and sights like this won’t be extraordinary.

Olympic Torch Senryu

shouting clear and loud
“eradicate B.S.L”
Our Olympic Torch

running with THE Torch
loving best friend at his side
limitless meanings

Princess Vadar

Pretty in Pink Princess Vader Costume

Princess Vadar

pale purple and pink
trendy took her fancy
thus, she chose

amateur mode
a masquerade
she no longer smiles
in private life

she was scum
lacking integrity
demanding a duel

case closed
fairy-princess too bold
but Vengeance Laws
requires fight of honor

[in some cases]
acclaimed combat skill
might be considered cheating

quick heat, quick art

Paul GauguinThe Meal (The Bananas). 1891. Oil on canvas. Musée d’Orsay, Paris, France.

quick heat, quick art

still life, fabrics, figurines
troubled mother, on her knees

bananas, bright, vermillion tones
calabash jug must be on loan

pointing knife, on folds of white
shadows deep and guava bright

scene contrived, a meal that’s fake
too much fruit, a belly ache

splashes, angles, a row of kids
looking for the missing figs?

worries? puzzled? anxious? stressed?
bowl renewed, fluids refreshed

begin, adopt – independent line
impressionistic color time

The River

Stainforth River Irwell

The River

dead slag sinks
joins scraps
sinks deeper
into infinite coma
stupidly waits
for hibernators
first spring drink

river’s quit trying to become sky
river’s gonna try to reach the sea

darkness: prefered
summer: too long
storms: relentless

river’s quit trying to become sky
river’s gonna try to reach sea

voices in a treat

Pies begging to be eaten

voices in a treat

optional piece of sweet cake
truffles, cookies, pie
the special case of Baklava

sweetness of the crust’s
sinister smile
supplicating to be sampled

voices of a bowel movement
after a tasty treat

In the Dragon’s Nest

ParkeHarrison Study-of-Nest-1994

In the Dragon’s Nest

sea wind
awakens
in position
preserving warmth

dream-state
reflection
unaccustomed
primeval scene

a veritable drama
an ad hoc set
soon to be showcased:
most rare specimen

it’s just a job
in a time
of uncontrollable
unemployment

senryu of blues and honesty

Giant Blue Spider on Cobweb

senryu of blues and honesty

i sing my own blues
i walk in people’s stories
their honest passion

grey clouds through blue sky
moving rapidly today
winds, variable

the world-wide cobweb
in my uncomfortable brain
can’t banish the blues

giant blue spider
also seeks some honesty
acceptance and love
