Sir Henry was a pirate for ten years and worked for the Department of Nottingham Festival in Simi Valley, California, USA. He also worked for Pirates For Hire as their marketing manager. He “went to events, passed out flyers and had a great time.” He regularly attended events such as the Ventura Pirate Festival at Ventura Harbor .
Sir Henry said that Facebook “is a really good media for pirates. I have over 3000 pirate friends from Florida to Europe and all over the world. And we all have a blast.”

Greg dressed as both a Pirate and a Viking. He attended various pirate events, such as the Ventura Pirate Festival at Ventura Harbor. But he also went to an event which occurs every September in Solvang, California called Danish Days.
Greg had been doing this type of costuming and attending events for over 20 years. Previously, his brother and he attended a Renaissance Fair in Santa Barbara on a regular basis. That’s how they got the “fair bug.” Greg met really interesting people with whom he would hang out.
At the time I met Greg, he said he was doing anything from charity events, to hanging out with other costumers, to bringing people from communities together.
Greg was born and bred in Fillmore, California, USA and that was where he was living when I met him.

Captain Jack was a pirate who loved rum and Moon Mermaid.
He was an actor with Pirates For Hire who attended events such as the Ventura Pirate Festival at Ventura Harbor. He was a performer who entertained all over America, including Alaska, and various countries around the world.
During events, he was a Master of Ceremonies in the costume contests and was very inspirational to children who were fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean film series and were motivated to dress like pirates.
Captain Jack said I could write anything I wanted to write as long as it made him sound good. But I think you could find out more about him on @captainjacklive.

Victoria was an actress for Pirates For Hire. She did the Ventura Pirate Festival at Ventura Harbor every year; she was a “traveling pirate.”
Victoria emphasized that she was a “lady pirate and not a wench.” She sword fought, beat up/got beaten up by other pirates, but “on the most part, spent time together with friends.”

Cherrie, who was from the Los Angeles, California, USA area, said her friend brought her to the Ventura Pirate Festival at Ventura Harbor for the first time the day that we met and she was “having a blast.”
Cherrie pieced together her costume from various articles of clothing that she had. She believed that her costume represented a costume that a well-kept pirate’s wife or pirate’s mistress would have owned. A friend of hers gave her a few of the pieces and some of the pieces she had inherited.

Mackenzie worked at Ventura Harbor and the Ventura Pirate Festival was her event. As the lead organizer, she had to hire all the entertainment, get all the rentals, get all the privateers, such as Pirates For Hire, all the event vendors and then make sure they were all on time and in place.
Mackenzie was also in charge of social media for the event; she did all the Facebook, @Twitter and @Instagram for Ventura Harbor.
