end of world
planned pre-extinction
puzzled driver won’t return

no more ginger-filled
usual morning cup
postponed indefinitely

tears burned
evening light
white-fronted entryways

pleasure
slowly spilling
down ragging river

stretched pathway
leads to invariable demise
sunset tunnel
