Joy From Acts of Pleasure

Riding The Beast

Joy From Acts of Pleasure

Must I always pray for pleasure?

Then pay for deliverance with remorse?

Or rather, look for pleasure

With spontaneity?

Fuse with it, like truth and justice?

Mount it like a wild beast?

And ride it with poetic pain?

*************

I wrote this for the  http://sundayscribblings.blogspot.com/  challenge called pleasure.

About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet." To learn more about the origins of the word "zongrik" see whats-a-zongrik?

  8. Pleasure with no guilt, is the best kind. We should mount it spontaneously. Is it me, or did I read sexual undertones here? Ha.

  9. When truth and justice meet the ild beast, there may indeed be pain as poetic justice! Quite intriguing!

  10. What a wonderful poem… Being able to enjoy oneself and experiencing pleasure and happiness (without hurting others) is everyone’s right (no, perhaps responsibility!). No need to colour such an existence with guilt and remorse!
