Pit Bull Stats

moving forward

resurgence of authentic prophets
be real, lift the veil.

respect all the sentient.
re-surge and revolt.

declare unconditional love
as you make them stop the pain.

About zongrik

For those of you who do not know the handle "zongrik," that would be Bat-Ami Gordin. Most people call me "Tammy." Bat-Ami means "daughter of my nation" in Hebrew. It's a heavy name to carry around. I answer to either name. I also answer to "mama." Some Basic Things about me: Animal lover, mom, poet/writer, dramatic soprano, photographer, teacher/tutor, CERT/Technician and, oh yeah, aerospace engineer. I consider myself "The Astro-Poet." To learn more about the origins of the word "zongrik" see whats-a-zongrik?

  1. Yes, declare unconditional love! And don’t ban pit bulls unless they’ve been proven to be aggressive. Ban the owners/caretakes that teach them to be that way.

  2. Very good, very creative, very caring. Poignant.

  3. Very well written! Stunning! 🙂

  4. Amazing blog, this is a must read. this blows me away. it’s hard to find the words powerful enough. xxxxxxxx

  5. You are a caring person, Tammy…it shows here and elsewhere. Thank you for sharing!

  6. Love the poem and the Pit Bull Stats image says it all too. Rather than doing something significant, politicians who bring in BSL just appear to be helping while traumatizing families and killing innocent dogs! Unknown to many people, who may not be all that sentient in some cases, dogs are now considered to be far more intelligent than previously thought. They are completely connected to us and understand our gestures and emotions extremely well. Unconditional love is the truth! No other species can do what they can do and yet the ignorant will kill such a wonderful companion. BSL Bites!

  7. this brings a tear to my eyes, great job

  8. I don’t like Pit Bulls…in fact, I don’t like most large aggressive behaving dogs. But…I am not suggesting banning these animals. In fact, I much prefer banning cigarettes more than anything else on the list. Nasty habit that kills not only smokers, but people like you & me.

    • Pit bulls are not large aggressive behaving dogs. They can be if they are trained to be, or are treated very badly. That’s the whole point!!

I hate cigarettes and wish they were banned also.

  9. I’m all for banning cigarettes and not pit bulls, though I am not a pit bull lover per se. In fact, I’m a bit leery of them. (Less so, after reading your stats, though.)

    Powerful poem.

    =)

  10. gorgeous :3 people definitely need to learn to be more open-minded, and i’m sure your poetry helps!

  11. Unconditional love – something I prayed for God to give me, …but learning to give it at times is a challenge!

  12. Beautiful poem! Are pit bulls banned in the US? I didn’t know that. And I totally agree with the very first commenter: ‘…don’t ban pit bulls (edit: or other dogs!) unless they’ve been proven to be aggressive. Ban the owners/caretakes that teach them to be that way.’

    • pitbulls are banned in certain jurisdictions, such as Miami and Denver. just last week they had a vote to dispose of the rule, but the vote failed. people are ignored about pit bulls. a lot of it is the media who only tell the bad things pit bulls do, but not the overwhelming greater number of good stories of how certain pit bulls saved their masters, or saved a kid, or is a therapy dog or the other stories that show that pit bulls are bigger humanitarians than humans.

  13. Oh yes sure we can find the ship of hope then….thanks for the visit…..and I really enjoyed this………powerful….

  14. Wow. This really hit home for me. I was thinking about this lately…

I wonder why they don’t show someone dying of lung cancer and children burying their parents?

Instead they continue to glamorize smoking in movies and we continue to teach our children that it’s okay to smoke.

    Grrrr.

Thank you for this thought provoking and thoughtful link to the letter “M”.

    A+
