there is much between the lines in this one….the spirits…the restraint in the second line behind smiles…obedient respect or abuse…the last stanza feels a relief to me as well…
WoW…your power with choosing just the right word…WoW.
Thank you.
Peace
Siggi
i think starting a candy bar was the perfect thing to do..smiles
offences much easier taken with a friend beside you… secrets to share..even of family; _(
Very nice. I am a sucker for alliteration, so I really like the minibits of it in the second stanza. I also have to agree with Claudia, the eating the candy bar was the exactly right thing.
Thank God for the candy bar 🙂 Nice write!
Sometimes those differences and fiery debates can be silenced by starting a candy bar ~
Nothing like chocolate as a peace offering.
Ah, if only all disagreements could be settled by sharing food, what a peaceful world this would be.
Ooh, I like “yelling like fireworks” and your closing line is powerful
I like this! You have the perfect voice for it.
LOVE! LOVE! Love. (Did I mention I love this?)
This is really good writing!
This made me want to know more, yet the images you chose convey emotional content so effectively. I like the subtly of this poem.
even when we are small the dynamics of power and contention can be bewildering. i would like to buy some bananas and redskins from your lolly shop.
Wow! So cool! Shades of Grey a la Zongrik. K.
Looks like an interesting relationship.
